Will you be my....

Better late than never, a reoccurring theme in my posts. Anyway, when my brother got engaged, we were all extremely excited. And then, his fiance asked my sisters and I to be bridesmaids! She asked us in a fun and creative way! Her favorite color is yellow, so she found a bottle of wine with mostly yellow decor and bought one for all of the bridesmaids! She also found a yellow dress, from 27 dresses and added our picture to the dress. On the back of the dress, she asked us to be her bridesmaids! It was a fun and exciting way to be asked to be a bridesmaid!!

Hope everyone had a nice and relaxing weekend! Dinner club MD went to breakfast at Room 39 on Saturday, quite tasty and worth the wait!!

XOXO

Wedding Shower!

Last weekend there was a wedding shower for my future (very near) sister-in-law. The shower was hosted by my aunts (one of which is the proprietor of the Monogram Shop of Kansas City) and my grandmother. It was a lovely setting with great company!

Party Favor! Cute matchsticks and a candle! (Also doubled as a place card, so clever and fun!)

Pretty Flowers!

Monogrammed napkins! All of the napkins at the tables were monogrammed with the letter 'G.' The bride got to take all of the napkins with her new initial home as a gift! Great idea!! (All courtesy of The Monogram Shop)

All of the guests were asked to bring their favorite recipes. Recipe cards were sent out with the invitations. Also, in the picture, you can partially see the invitation. So cute!!

The beautiful bride-to-be! (With her onion glasses) We gave her a group gift for this shower. I think this can be a great idea, especially if the bride doesn't want to be the certain of attention for too long!!

So excited for the upcoming festivities!! I will keep you posted throughout the week!!

Will you be my...

Well, I guess we should formally announce that one of the Dinner Club MD bloggers has recently become engaged (Me). You will soon see multiple posts regarding the upcoming plans of our wedding. We are not getting married until April, 2011, but I am a DIY girl, so I have decided to start planning early. One of the first big tasks (besides finding the man of my dreams) was to ask the women who will stand beside me on the actual day, and support our marriage throughout the years to come. I wanted to ask my bridesmaids in a creative way, so I did the following:

I ordered bridal stationary from the ever chic Preston Paper Sarah-Allen Preston is the designer behind this adorable stationary line. She can personalize any of her designs, and it's adorable! (She also threw in this adorable notepad. If you can't read it, it says: 'To do, before I do'...how cute!)

Fold over cards in the same design: ( I included a personal message to all of the bridesmaids to express my love for them and the reasons why I feel they should be by my side as I marry my best friend).
Finally, I gave them each The Bridesmaid Guide. It was a fun way to show my appreciation for the part they will play in our wedding.
I hope you enjoy the first of many wedding posts. TGIF!
